The Journey Starts Here.
We believe God speaks to us today and that it is important to teach, equip, and activate Christians in the gift of prophecy. Learn how the Lord can use you to strengthen and encourage the people and community around you.
What is prophecy?
Prophecy means to recognize God’s voice and speak forth His truth and purposes in love, primarily in the form of proclamation rather than future-telling (although that can be a part of it). The New Testament is clear that prophecy is a gift of the Holy Spirit given to Christians for the benefit of the community.
The one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging, and comfort.
– 1 Corinthians 14:3
How do we do this?
As we learn to recognize God’s voice, we can not only hear Him for ourselves, but also those around us.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. – John 10:27.
For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. – 1 Corinthians 14:31
Who does this at MHCC?
The MHCC Prophetic Ministry is a team of Christ followers who love God and are trained in hearing His voice. Sharing the heart of God with others in a safe and loving way is our goal.
If I have the gift of prophecy.. but do not have love, I am nothing. – 1 Corinthians 13:2
When do we do this?
One way we make time for prophetic ministry at MHCC is by scheduling After Service Prophetic Ministry (ASP) about once every 4 months. ASP takes place on a Sunday morning after service is dismissed. To participate, sign up at the information center on a Sunday morning or call the MHCC office.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
-1 Peter 4:10-11
What does it look like to receive prophetic ministry?
At the end of the service there will be an invitation given to all who signed up to receive prophetic ministry. Ministry teams will be at the front of the auditorium. You may go to any team you choose. Team members will pray and share with you any thoughts they believe God has placed on their heart.
How can I prepare to receive prophetic ministry?
Prophetic team members will be praying for you in the days and weeks leading up to the ministry time. We recommend that you prepare yourself as well by praying for that God would prepare your heart to hear from His heart.
Would you like to learn more about prophetic ministry?
The Exploring the Prophetic class examines the many ways God speaks to His children, as well as practical activities to help identify God’s voice and respond appropriately for yourself and those around you. The fun and interactive format facilitates opportunities for participants to grow and practice in a safe and loving environment.
This foundational class is offered yearly, and is open to the entire MHCC family. It is the first step toward being part of the MHCC Prophetic Ministry Team.

Pursue love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. – 1 Corinthians 14 :1
